Ingredients:
1 pork butt, bone in, 3.5 to 4 pounds
2 Tablespoons brown sugar
1 Tablespoon coarse salt
1 Tablespoon black pepper
1 Tablespoon onion powder
1 Tablespoon cumin
1 Tablespoon dried thyme
1 Tablespoon Paprika
1 8-ounce can Heinz Vegetarian Baked Beans
½ Cup Jack Daniel’s Original Barbecue Sauce
¼ Cup Heinz Hot & Spicy KICK’RS Ketchup
2 Tablespoons Heinz Spicy Brown Mustard
2 Tablespoons Heinz Apple Cider vinegar
10 hamburger or sandwich buns
Directions:
Heinz Tailgating Recipe Contest 1st Runner Up- Devon Delaney Preheat oven to 300 degrees. Place pork in baking dish. Prepare pork rub by combining brown sugar, salt, pepper, onion powder, cumin, thyme and paprika and rubbing spice blend over the surface of pork, cover and let stand for ½ hour. Add 1 cup water to the bottom of the baking pan, cover with a foil tent and bake for 3.5 to 4 hours. Let cool until able to handle. In a separate saucepan, stir together baked beans, barbecue sauce, ketchup, mustard and vinegar and cook until hot. Remove from heat. With a knife and fork or your hands, remove bone and pull meat apart into shreds and place in a large deep, transportable container. Stir 1 cup of the sauce into the shredded pork and mix well. Place remaining sauce in a transportable container. Cover and transport to game. Serve on rolls, and drizzle with remaining sauce. Serves: 8-10 Sandwiches
